The Peoples Energy Cooperative Operation Round Up Trust Board provided $25,195 in grants this past quarter. The PEM wrestling program was recognized for a $1200 grant to help purchase a new awards stand for the 5-6 tournaments they offer during the wrestling season.
Head coach Steve Hinrichs received the award on August 17th, at the Peoples Cooperative Energy headquarters in Oronoco, on behalf of the entire PEM wrestling program.
He commented during the awards program "the PEM wrestlers, alumni, and parents are very involved in offering up to 6 wrestling tournaments that involve over 1000 wrestlers each year competing in the PEM gym. We needed an updated awards stand, as numerous parents and grandparents look forward to the pictures and memories after a successful tournament. This award will now help class-up our tournaments into the future"
