In the first dual against Section 1AA rival Stewartville, the Bulldogs got a quick start from Isaac Walch with a 5-1 victory to get the Bulldogs on the board. Stewartville responded with a pin at 113 to take the lead at 6-3. Then at 120 and 126, 7th graders Alex Hinrichs and Logan Dittrich came up big for the Bulldogs. At 120, Hinrichs wrestled to an even 0-0 first period, but pulled away in the 2nd and 3rd period, cruising to a 9-1 major decision victory and retaking the lead for the Bulldogs. At 126, Logan Dittrich trailed 6-2 at the end of the first period. Refusing to give up, Dittrich battled back with 2 takedowns of his own in the second period. Dittrich finished the 2nd takedown all the way to the back and tightened it up to secure the fall in 3:53 for his first career varsity victory.
Riding the wave of momentum, Austen Michel got 3 sets of nearfall points to take a 10-0 lead into the 3rd period before locking up another tight cradle for the fall with :22 seconds remaining in the match. At 145, Kael Lamb used 3 takedowns to pull away in a 10-4 victory. At 152, Cael Marx required just over a minute to pin his opponent. Joe Stucky used 3 takedowns and a set of nearfall points to roll to a major decision and 160. Dereck Boyum followed suit at 170 with another 1st period pin raising the team score to 44-6 in favor of the Bulldogs.
At 182, Stewartville scored a decision victory to earn 3 more points. But Alex Rahman responded in big fashion at 195 with a double leg takedown straight to the back for a pin in only :33 seconds. Stewartville had one more win at 220 for their 3rd win of the dual. But at 285, Logan Wingert finished the dual with an exclamation point, needing 1:36 to get 2 takedowns and a pin.

In the 2nd dual of the day, PEM got into a barn-burner with the Kenyon-Wanamingo Knights. Starting off at 106, Isaac Walch wrestled very well for 8 and a half minutes in a 3-2 loss that ended by Ultimate Tie-Breaker. K-W then won the next 3 weight classes as well to take a 18-0 lead after the first 4 weights. Austen Michel got the first win for the Bulldogs at 132 with a 6-3 decision putting 3 points on the board for PEM. K-W responded with a fall at 138 and a decision at 145 to pull back away now leading 28-3.
At 152, Cael Marx tripled the PEM score column with a :40 second pin, and Joe Stucky got a pin at 160 as well, pulling the Bulldogs within 12. At 170, Dereck Boyum was leading 4-2 in his match when an inadvertent head-butt to the eye-socket caused an intense goose-egg. Unfortunately, the trainer ruled Boyum medically unable to continue, surrendering 6 points via injury default and giving K-W back a 16 point lead.
The Knights were open in the next 2 weight classes, so both Alex Rahman and Martin Prieto picked up 6 point forfeit victories, pulling the Bulldogs within 7 points with 2 weight classes remaining. Unfortunately, K-W won by fall at 220 to seal the meet. Logan Wingert finished the dual with another victory by forfeit at 285.

In the 3rd and final dual meet of the day versus host Cannon Falls, the Bombers won 5 of the first six bouts, all by pin. The lone win for the Bulldogs in the lower 6 weights was a critical come-from behind win by fall by Austen Michel at 132 to that kept the Bulldogs within striking distance, albeit very distant. Down 30-6 going into 145, Kael Lamb got the Bulldogs rolling again with a 10-3 victory. Cael Marx got a first period pin at 152 to close the lead down to 30-15. At 160, Dereck Boyum donned a full face-mask to protect his swollen eye and earned a 10-0 major decision to pull PEM within 11 (30-19).
Joe Stucky followed at 170 with a pin in just over a minute to pull the Bulldogs within 5 (30-25). The Bulldogs suffered a setback at 182 when Cannon Falls picked up a pin to again lead by 11 (36-25) with only 3 weight classes remaining. Alex Rahman scored a victory by forfeit at 195 to again pull the Bulldogs within 5 points. The match of the entire day came next at 220. With the dual meet on the line, the Bulldogs sent Tony Roberton to take on Cannon Falls’ Trey Liotta. As the first period was winding down, Liotta scored first with a takedown and ride-out to take a 2-0 lead into the 2nd. Roberton chose neutral to begin the 2nd and got a takedown of his own to even the score at 2-2, but Liotta would not stay down long getting a quick escape to again take a 3-2 lead. Roberton would keep the pressure on through the end of the 2nd period, and though he didn’t get a takedown, he did force Liotta to walk backward into a warning for stalling. Liotta chose down to begin the 3rd period and earned a quick escape to stretch his lead to 4-2. With the dual meet in the balance, Roberton kept moving forward but could not get close to a takedown as Liotta kept backing and backing. Halfway through the 3rd Liotta was called for stalling again and Roberton was awarded a point closing the lead to 4-3. Roberton continued coming forward, but again Liotta kept backing up. With :15 seconds left in regulation Liotta was called for stalling yet again tying up the match at 4-4. In the 1:00 overtime period Roberton again kept moving forward, and with :02 seconds left in the overtime period scored a takedown, giving him a win by sudden victory.
As importantly, it pulled the Bulldogs within 2 points of the Bombers for the first time since the beginning of the meet, setting the table for senior heavyweight Logan Wingert to complete the PEM comeback. True to form, Wingert only needed 1:11 to earn a takedown and pin giving the Bulldogs their only lead of the meet and a 40-36 dual meet victory.
