On Thursday, Jan. 12 the Bulldog wrestling team traveled east to face the Falcons of Wabasha-Kellogg who were fresh off an impressive victory over Dover-Eyota. The Bulldogs scored pins in 3 of the first 4 matches to take a 18-6 lead, courtesy of 8th graders Cael Marx (106) and Garrett Olson (120), and senior Reed DeFrang (126). After giving up a hard fought decision to W-K’s Taigen Miller at 132, the sophomore trio of Lafe Aarsvold (138), Carter Marx (145), and Dustin Dittrich (160) added a decision and 2 falls to stretch the Bulldog lead to 33-15. Junior Austin Rother dropped a tough 8-6 decision at 170 before seniors Frank Wingert (182) and Jacob Clark (195) added a pin and another decision. Closing out the dual for the Bulldogs were the freshmen Riley (220) and Logan Wingert (285) both getting pins to finish the scoring.
