Saturday January 7th saw the Bulldog wrestlers leave early in the morning for the annual “Clash of the Titans” Invitational tournament hosted by Tartan High School, in Oakdale, MN. The Bulldogs dominated the competition, winning the team championship by 85 points. Some of the highlights for the Bulldogs included, having a top 6 place-winner at all 14 weight classes, 5 individual champions, 9 finalists, and 11 of 14 wrestlers placing in the top 3. In addition, senior 126-Reed DeFrang won his 2nd Invitational of the season, 113-Nick Miller defended his 2016 Clash of the Titans title, 106-Cael Marx, 132-Joe Stucky, and 170-Austin Rother all won the first varsity tournament of their careers. 152-Connor Jones and 160-Dustin Dittrich each went 3-1 on the day with Dittrich’s only loss coming at the hands Lakeville North state champion Andrew Sullivan by a score of 3-1.
