On Saturday Feb, 10 the PEM JV wrestlers wrapped up their season competing in the Three Rivers Conference JV Tournament. Under the guidance of Coach Mitch Walch, this year’s JV team is a very young collection of mostly 7-9 grade wrestlers with varying levels of past experience. Further complicating the Bulldogs’ tournament was that the varsity dual with Chatfield was rescheduled for the exact same day. Since a few eligible JV wrestlers were needed for varsity that evening, the JV team was even more short-handed going into the tournament.
Despite being short-handed the young Bulldogs competed very well against the field, finishing 2nd out of the 10 conference teams. Leading the way for the Bulldogs were champions Austen Michel (8th) at 113 pounds and 1st year wrestler, freshman Conner Ramthun at 120 pounds.
